We offer partly independent trip package including a night stay in this hotel.
The program starts at meeting and transfer from a town in northern Thailand (Chiang Rai,
Chiang Mai, Nan provinces) to our hotel. Then the trip will take you to Lao side of the Mekong
river - Houixai from where a private rented boat will transport you on senic Mekong
river down to Pakbeng and Luang Prabang. You are advised to contact us at least few months ahead
to design a most suitable itinerary. Below is just a sample one.
Sample Mekong river cruising tour
Day 1: Transfer from a place in northern Thailand to Namkhong Riverside hotel.
Day 2: Car to Thai immigration, boat crossing to Houixai (Lao immigration), tuk tuk taxi
transfer to slow boat station there. Board our boat (confortable seats, life jackets,
roof, toilet, table,
cups and spoons, boiled water, hot drinks, fruits and snacks available). Down the Mekong
river to Pakbeng with planty of opportunity to see and visit tribal villages on the way.
Guesthouse stay in Pakbeng.
Day 3: Continue in the boat to Luang Prabang. On the way you make visit of villages, and
Pak Ou caves (Tham Ting). Tuk tuk transfer to guesthouse in Luang Prabang. Guesthouse rooms
will also be arranged.
