Mu Koh Phayam National Park
The 347 square kilometers marine park has its headquarters in Ban Tha Chang, Tambon Ngao of Ranong town.
Topography could be divided into three.
A shoreline area comprises of a beach that contains a dense mangrove forest, the further inland areas
with hills covered by evergreen forest, and the marine area with the islands.
Popular activities are swimming, snorkeling, beach sports, boating to the islands, bird watching, hiking and camping.
Ta Wua Dam island has black sand beach that has been formed by sea shells. Fai Mai island is surrounded by a
circle of rocks in various colors.
How to get there
From Ranong drive 20 km on highway 4 to the south, to Ban Ngao.
Continue another 5 km to the headquarters. To go to Koh Phayam and other islands you need to rent a boat
at the pier near the headquarters. Also check for the ferry boat service there. At Ban Pak Nam fishing bridge in Ranong district town also has boats to
Koh Phayam.
