Trek from Kalaw to Inle lake in southern Shan state of Myanmar (Burma)
(From late October to March)
Day1 (L.D)
In the morning meet at your hotel in Kalaw. We will start trekking to the north. Walk down and up the hills for about 2.5 hours to get to "Pein Ne Bin village" (Paluang tribe people). Continue walking along the mountains where the scene is very beautiful. About one hour later we will get to "Taung Ni village" (Paluang tribe).
Have lunch at this village. After a short rest we will continue the trek, this time to the east, mostly down hill for about 2 hours to "Zedi Gone village" (Pa-O and Da-Nu tribes). Another half hours hike will take us to "Hin Kha Bin village" (Pa-O hilltribe). We will then cross the road (Pindaya - Aung Ban) and walk another half hours to "Lwe Ma Khan village" (Da-Nu hilltribe).
From this village we will trek an hour to "Khone Lwin village" (Da-Nu hilltribe). We will have our night stay in a monastery 1 km further from this village.
Have a good dinner and sleep in a strange place.
Day 2 (B.L.D)
Have a Shan style breakfast. Start trekking again. We will pass the rail road and get to "Samong Kham village" (Da-Nu tribe). Later we will cross the road (Aung Ban - Taunggyi) we continue through the vegetable and fruits farms. We will pass "Kan Tan village" (Da-Nu and Hta-Nought tribes), "Kambani village" (Da-Nu and Hta-Nought tribes), "Sue Pan Inn village" (Taung Yoe hilltribe). In Sue Pan Inn we will have our lunch. Continue walking uphill to "Wah Gyi Myaung village" (Taung Yoe tribe) where we will have our dinner and night stop at a monastery. Today trek is approximately 6 hours.
Day 3 (B)
Breakfast. Final day of trek to Inle lake. Today most of the walk will be down hill and passing through villages. It will take around 4 hours to reach the western end of Inle lake. The scene is very beautiful. We will finally arrive at "Khaung Daing village" (local Lake people) around noon time.
Good bye and end of the trip.
