Kui Buri National Park
Topography
Kui Buri national park lies in Pranburi, Samroiyod and Prachuap Khiri Khan districts of Prachuap Khiri Khan province.
The 969 square kilometers park is the headwater of many river streams, and consists of valuable natural resources.
The park sits on the steep Tanao Sri mountain range which runs north - south along Thailand - Myanmar border.
There are dry evergreen and moist evergreen forest; important trees are Dipterocarpus tuberculatus, Hopeaodorata, Terminalia chebula and palm.
Wildlife is said to be abundant; there are elephant, guar, malya tapir, wild pig, serow, gibbon, macaque, langur sambar deer, bear, barking deer, banteng and lesser mouse deer in the park.
Tourist attractions
A couple of beautiful waterfalls with pools good for swimming, natural trails for hiking are in the park.
Accommodations and facilities
The park provided camping area but tourist have to take their own tent and foodstuff.
How to get there
If you go from Bangkok, on highway no. 4, a few kilometers before reaching Kui Buri district town turn right (to the west) to the route no. 3217 and follow the signs. The park's headquarters is located about 35 km form Kui Buri.
